First Step Makes Case for Legislators Help in Wireless Network Expansion
First Step Internet had the opportunity to meet with over 100 Idaho State Legislators on November 10th as part of their North Idaho Legislative Tour. Through a presentation and facility tour, we had the opportunity to impress upon our lawmakers the importance of expanding broadband service throughout the region in order to spur economic growth and give rural areas access to these important services. In 2007, the State of Idaho helped First Step Internet expand service to the City of Weippe, Teakean Butte, and rural areas north of Potlatch. We hope they will make such broadband expansion a priority this next year and beyond.
Expanded Coverage in Orofino
First Step has expanded wireless internet coverage in Orofino and the surrounding area. In addition, we have installed a new backbone link to increase capacity and bring much needed bandwidth to the area. The new tower is on Gilbert Grade.

Christmas for Kids is Coming!
Christmas for Kids was started over 20 years ago working directly with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to provide clothing to more than 600 children throughout Latah county. We hope to provide every child that makes a request a donation such as a toy, book, shoes, socks, pajamas, etc. and we also try to fulfill requests such as coats and other winter wear.

Come to the Giving Tree at the Eastside Marketplace for your tag with information on donating for a special child in Latah County.
